The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
