The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
