The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
