The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
