The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
