The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
