The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 you pay attention 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
