The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
