The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
