The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
