The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
