The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
