The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 you pay attention 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
