The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
