The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
