The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
