The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
