The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 you pay attention 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
