The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
