The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
