The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
