The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
