The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 you pay attention 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
