The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
