The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
