The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
