The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
