The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 then he mustered 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
