The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and hastily turned away, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
