The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 you pay attention 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
