The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
