The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
