The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
