The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
