The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
