The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
