The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
