The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
