The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
