The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
