The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
