The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
