The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
