The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 you pay attention 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
