The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
