The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who govern the event, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
