The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
