The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
