The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
