The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
